N2N annually provides onsite coat drive distributions at 8 unique locations in and around Washington County once a year.

 

The event is community based and specific for each location. The coats are brand new and ordered directly online from Walmart and individual donations.

 

This event started in 2014 as our very first outreach and has blossomed into a staple for the communities served. Each event usually lasts an hour and a half.  We have full coat racks set up at each facility, and each child is able to pick their own coat. We collect the tags to monitor the amount of passed out and also for ordering purposes to maintain an adequate supply for each event.

 

We average about 50-60 coats delivered for each event and during each event we typically provide a party and drinks for anyone who attends including adults and volunteers. This is our most labor intensive event, but also one of the most rewarding.

 

We have been able to hand out gloves and hats as resources have allowed, and we would like to add these items as a consistent part of each event.

 

Through years of relationship development with Facility Management and Residents, compounded with our “station” outreaches they have proven to be our most fruitful engagement.
