Monthly Community Outreach: 6pm on the first and third Friday of every month
Neighbor 2 Neighbor meets at 6pm on the first and third Friday of every month to serve our low income, homeless, and divine appointments in and around the City of Washington and Canonsburg.
The group meets under Interstate 70 on Jefferson Ave. next to McDonalds, where we meet to divide up 120 prepared meals, clothing items, toiletries, blankets, and supplies. The team then divides into at least three groups and sometimes four, depending on the amount of volunteers.
We have three fixed “stations” where the teams go consistently, Jollick Manor in Washington and Valley View Terrace in Canonsburg, and Washington Estates Trailer Park where we provide the meals and supplies.
We also have a mobile unit that visits established locations in Washington including the laundry mat locations and Red Roof Inn off Chestnut Street.
We typically have 15 – 25 Volunteers who help with this ministry consistently and is our pillar of community service.
We have identified many more opportunities in Washington and we anticipate adding Belvedere Acres and Maple Terrace locations on the second Saturday of each month effective June 1st 2021.
